Jane Pratt, RN, BS, MS, CNOR
Jane has over 30 years of progressive experience in the healthcare industry in education, management, and consulting. Jane has extensive operational and management experience in acute and tertiary care hospitals in surgical services. She successfully planned for and opened a new facility surgery program and managed the continued growth and addition of surgical suites. As director, she had administrative responsibilities for surgery at two facilities in the departments of ambulatory surgery and surgery, as well as the post anesthesia care unit (PACU), and central supply.
Accomplishments and Experience:
Jane has provided consulting services in variety of settings including surgery and endoscopy centers, academic medical centers, and small and large hospitals. She has demonstrated ability to assist clients with areas of need/concern by providing unique approaches to issue resolution and future planning.
Jane's areas of expertise include operational assessments of surgical services including pre-operative assessment, outpatient surgery, post anesthesia recovery (PACU), anesthesia, and central supply. She also has extensive experience in operations improvement by improving the efficiency of operating rooms, pre-operative evaluation, supply utilization and cost management, block utilization improvement, surgery and endoscopy scheduling, and clinical practice changes to AORN standards
Her work also has included program planning and implementation of new services including robotic surgery and operational and design support assistance for surgery and endoscopy. She has contributed to business plan development for ambulatory surgery centers and specialty hospitals; capacity based on volume and case mix, equipment needs, hours of operation and staffing. She has provided interim management and transitional support, mentoring and leadership development
Jane is a member of the Association of Operating Room Nurses (AORN) and Executive Women in Healthcare. She has served on the board of a surgery center and was a member of the Clinical Coordinator Advisory Council of the Indiana Vocational Technical College Surgical Technology Program.
